Differences Between 3003, 3004 and 3105 Aluminum Alloys
All three aluminum alloys belong to the non-heat treatable 3xxx (Al-Mn) series, and differ mainly in chemical composition, mechanical properties and application scenarios。
All three aluminum alloys belong to the non-heat treatable 3xxx (Al-Mn) series, and differ mainly in chemical composition, mechanical properties and application scenarios:

1. Chemical Composition
- 3003 Aluminum: Manganese is the main alloying element (1.0-1.5% Mn content), usually added with a small amount of copper (0.05-0.20% Cu), no extra magnesium added.3004 Aluminum: Based on aluminum-manganese system, added 0.8-1.3% magnesium, with manganese content of 1.0-1.5%.3105 Aluminum: Adopts a low-manganese, high-magnesium composition design, with both manganese and magnesium as the main alloying elements.3003 Aluminum: Manganese is the main alloying element (1.0-1.5% Mn content), usually added with a small amount of copper (0.05-0.20% Cu), no extra magnesium added.

2. Mechanical Properties
| Property | 3003 | 3004 | 3105 |
| Tensile Strength | 120-160MPa | 150-285MPa (higher than 3003) | Slightly higher than 3003, balances strength and ductility |
| Ductility & Formability | Best, excellent for deep drawing and complex forming | Lower ductility than 3003, higher strength | More uniform grain, lower wrinkling risk in stamping, better for multiple bending |
| Corrosion Resistance | Excellent rust resistance | Good, similar to 3003 | Maintains good corrosion resistance, more suitable for harsh environments |
3. Typical Applications
- 3003: The most versatile "workhorse alloy", widely used for liquid tanks, oil pipelines, kitchen utensils, air conditioners, refrigerators, aluminum lunch boxes, curtain walls and chemical storage equipment.3004: Higher strength, preferred for can bodies of all-aluminum beverage cans, chemical equipment, building partitions, aluminum-manganese-magnesium roof panels for curved/hyperbolic buildings.3105: Optimized for structural applications, commonly used for building components such as room partitions, gutter, color aluminum plates, bottle caps, and structural parts in high-temperature harsh environments.
